1. ![]() Register. Call the community learning center nearest to you today to set up an appointment to come by and register with us. 2. ![]() Evaluation. In order to determine where you are starting from, we give all of our incoming learners a brief evaluation. (It's not a test - there's no grade!) You can complete this evaluation when you come in to register or at another time that is convenient for you. The evaluation allows us to be sure that we're placing you in the programming that will move you towards your goals in the best way possible.
3. ![]() Select a Program and Get Started! Once you've registered with us, our staff will work with you to figure out which of our programs best fits your goals. We offer one-on-one tutoring and small group classes. We'll do our best to work around your busy schedule. Once enrollment is complete, you're ready to work towards your goals in our caring and supportive environment! You'll be glad you called! Frequently Asked Questions
Q?
HOW WILL I FIT MY STUDIES INTO MY BUSY SCHEDULE?A.
Milwaukee Achiever understands that our learners have competing demands on their time!
Both of our community-based centers offer daytime and evening hours and we will do the best to find a time that works for you when you register with us. Q?
HOW MUCH DO CLASSES COST?A.
Milwaukee Achiever does collect a small, per-semester fee that covers the cost of registration, testing and course
materials. Our organization's philosophy is that our learners are making an investment in their personal growth. This fee may be divided into installments over the course of the semester in instances of financial need. Q?
HOW WILL I FIGURE OUT WHAT TYPE OF CLASSES ARE RIGHT FOR ME?A.
During your registration appointment, we will begin the discussion about your Personal Education Plan and your own
aspirations and goals. If you are coming to us to earn your GED/HSED, we will help you decide whether to enroll in a small group (mini-lab) or one-on-one tutoring. If you are coming to us to improve your computer skills, we'll help you decide on a focus for your studies. Maybe you have your high school diploma and you are looking to advance your career: It could be that our bridge-to-college program or our bilingual medical interpreting training is right for you! Q?
is there a waiting list?A.
Matching you with an individual tutor or the best program for your learning goals can take a little time, due to the fact that
every learner has a different schedule and different needs. Therefore, an immediate start is not always possible. However, we do our best to enroll learners in our programming as quickly as possible. While you are being enrolled, we offer self-guided learning options and full access to our computer labs. |
